Abramelin, day 195

Morning rite and noon prayer rite went well.

Today was a bit smoother than it’s been. I am hoping despite the apparent insanity that things will work out.

I am exhausted every day. I don’t think that this is good or a good sign. I’m just constantly tired.

Evening rite went well.

Wow girl, you are seriously very strong. What you’re doing is admirable and deserves a hell of a lot of respect. Most people would have long given up by this time.

Are you aware of the fact that you worked through 4 consecutive super Moons and still have 1 to go? I don’t even want to go into last Equinox. brrrrrrr horror

The good news though is that after the next super Moon things should settle down a bit and full Moon will be less intense and more bearable.

Have you considered adopting a different attitude and go for quality instead of quantity? Contrary to popular believe Abramelin can be an extremely beautiful process in which you soar to heights only seldom attained or experienced by the average Abramelist. One of the tricks is to eliminate and/or take a different attitude toward the stressors in your life. This is not easy though and takes time to learn (I’m still learning it myself, but it’s working, and I’m becoming better at it.) Try and detach yourself from your fears and learn to trust yourself and even more so the Universe. Learn to let go.

Have you heard of the Ikarian attitude? This is really something you should look into. Ikaria is a Greek island in the Aegean sea where the average life expectancy is about 90. Most centenarians who live on Ikaria are still very healthy and don’t suffer from the diseases we would expect them to suffer from at that age. Ironically it’s also considered to be the birthplace of Dionysos.

Ikarians aren’t lazy people. Conditions on the island can be very harsh at times and most of them don’t eschew hardship. However, the Ikarian sense of and attitude toward time is very different from ours. In our consumer based societies we are encouraged to produce as much as possible in as small as possible a time frame (products, money or whatever). It is however very questionable if this attitude leads toward greater happiness (or the Angel for that matter). If anything it leads toward higher mortality rates and lower life expectancy.

I wouldn’t advice you to combine Abramelistic mysticism with the Ikarian wine drinking habit. Alcohol is best avoided. Green tea contains caffeine, which also may not be very helpful during Abramelin, but opinions differ, since green tea is the main drug of many Zen practitioners for example (my own experiments with green tea were less successful, but I’m caffeine sensitive).

In all other respects a lot can be learned from the Ikarian attitude and lifestyle. Get enough sleep, eat healthy foods like fish (omega 3) and vegetables. Dance, celebrate the day, celebrate life and try not to take everything too seriously.

For now though, get enough sleep (at least 8 hours, very important), rest, heal and gain as much strength as you can. Sometimes we have to take back a little and recharge our batteries to get forward, and by knowing when we should give a little bit less we can achieve much more. As long as you keep your eyes on the ball there’s really nothing wrong with taking it easy now and then. You don’t want that pretty face to become all wrinkly do you?? Anyway.. just my two cents.. 🙂

    Best wishes,

I’m vegan so no fish for me. 🙂 I do however eat a pretty healthy diet despite my love of chocolate, copious amounts of chocolate.

I am however realizing the importance of why certain things were put into the rite, and why even in the modern day they still have meaning-in fact even more so. Particularly the purification bits.

I very much need to become self employed for a variety of reasons. That’s my main stressor right now.

At first I also tried to work as close as possible to the tradition. Later I changed a lot of things, like were the book contradicts itself or things that are significantly different from my own views of the Universe. This takes a lot of experimentation though and I would advice everyone to at least at first to stick as close as possible to the tradition.

I agree 100% with the importance of purity though. I couldn’t work in an impure environment. I also wouldn’t be able to do it without the incense. Maybe some people can, I don’t know. I just can’t.

If you’re already a vegan that’s great. I tried but I can’t keep myself balanced that way (probably because I’m lacking enough knowledge of nutrition and to properly figure all of this out would be a study in itself). But even though I still eat a little meat I did move toward a more fish and plant based diet which for me is quite an accomplishment. I did learn some things about nutrition.

I can light a candle for you if you want (for strength and so you may accomplish your goals). Ganesha (remover of obstacles) can be of great help too.

Thanks, I appreciate the support and the supportive comments. 🙂 I knew I was going to take more than 6 months, I knew this innately. I had a few obstacles coming in I had to clear up first, and clear up they did.

Hermes has always been good to me and I need to hang with Papa Legba more often. I definitely have a few more obstacles to burn through yet.

      • Teth says:

Most people don’t make it in 6 months. Reports of people who do make it in 6 months are often pretty dubious to say the least.

Hermes (psychopompos) should make a good travelling companion. I thought about this a while a go but forgot to do something with this information, so thank you for reminding me. Haven’t been into hoodoo/voudon yet. I find it interesting though and might be tempted to look into it more in the future.

Forgot to mention in my last post, chocolate also contains caffeine. The amount is so little though that normally it shouldn’t have to bother you too much. If you’re as sensitive as me though better not eat too much chocolate before you go to bed.

Again you are a heroine. I wish you all the strength and luck a woman in your situation could wish for.

        • Scarlet Magdalene says:

I figured maybe 9 cause hey, giving birth. 😛

I’m not that sensitive to caffeine thankfully, but it in tea and chocolate is far more agreeable to my body than coffee in certain doses.

          • Teth says:

Yes 9 months certainly sounds more doable and it does sound very romantic. But if you want my honest opinion, I generally wouldn’t set a definite end date (if you feel like you’ll make it in 9 months you should definitely go for it though, otherwise my first comment applies). But my opinion is just one of many opinions I guess. There is also this book which you are probably aware of called The Holy Guardian Angel (edited by Michael Cecchetelli) which goes into the various opinions of various people. If you haven’t already done so you should definitely read it. I’m still reading it myself, it’s a good book. You can also mail me if you need any support or advice or whatever and see if I’m available (I probably will be, for the moment at least).

  3. Scarlet Magdalene says:

Yup, have that book. I think I mention it in my FAQ. 🙂

I never set an end date for this nor do I ever plan on doing so. At the same time I could be doing this for the rest of my life if I don’t set some kind of anything on when it should end.

    • Teth says:

wow quick reaction :).. and great attitude too.. but every person may be different in this regard maybe? Not sure.. I used to set end dates though and when I didn’t make it I was extremely disappointed. I got the perfect method though (at least what works for me) and I have no doubt that if I’m given the chance it will inevitably lead me to the Angel, even without a definite end date. I will set an end date when I’m sure that absolutely nothing can fuck it up. But I think we agree.

      • Scarlet Magdalene says:

I think it makes sense that everyone who goes through it will have somewhat different experiences and lengths of time because well, we’re all different.
